July 23, 2026 Delphi Cocktails

  • Andaz Tokyo Tavern 港区, 東京都, 105-0001 Japan (map)

Having cleared our ledgers for H1 and banked our profits, we gather on July 23 to confront Taisho (大暑)—the “Great Heat,” and the most intense of Japan’s 24 traditional solar terms. While Tokyo succumbs to natsubate and retreats to air conditioning and the mountains, Delphites will demonstrate their mettle in an evening of elegant endurance, maintaining cognitive sharpness, collecting intelligence, and gaining strategic advantage while the rest of the city slows down.

Schedule

19:00 - Cocktail Party Begins

20:45 - Last order

21:00 - Cocktail Party Ends

Our sartorial protocol is the Ghost of Summers Past: choose clothing inspired by the Edo and Heian courts and engineered for heat. Chijimi hemp or ramie creates a permanent micro-ridged texture that keeps fabric from clinging to the skin; Ro or Sha silk offers lightweight, open-weave ventilation. Favor psychologically cooling colors such as asagi indigo, shira-ume white plum, or translucent bamboo green, and bring a sensu or uchiwa fan for tactical aerodynamics. To match the attire, our beverages follow ancient summer protocols: chilled amazake, sake and clear rice wines cooled with Himuro ice, and sharp shiso or ume botanicals. If these measures fail, resort to ghost stories for a literal chill down the spine.

As always, we maintain the Delphi Standard: a unified, all-inclusive 90-minute entry and beverage package, with no individual tabs, service delays, or administrative friction. Dress with historical intent, bring your sharpest summer data, and prepare for a brilliant evening of human connection, intellectual stimulation, and high-altitude networking at the apex of the season.
