The Delphi Roar: April 13th, 2025
Dear Members and Advisers,
Comiserations to any member who is being pummelled by the stock market - incredible swings. The real money goes to insiders, I suspect, although if you have the nerve, investing passively in stock has obviously been a pretty good long-term strategy.
For me, it’s one of the rare times when I am relieved not to own shares.
After experimenting with shares while living in Hong Kong, I noticed that I always bought at the top, sold in panic at the bottom, had sleepless nights - and decided to stay with simple real estate investments and investing in Delphi, instead.
Certainly, this week has been easy for me mentally - unlike one stock analyst we spoke to, who has been under tremendous pressure, getting furious phone calls from his clients, even though it’s obviously not the analyst’s fault.
Of course, most of the time in the past few years, I have seen soaring stock prices and always wondered if I should “get back in”!
Anyway…Hard to believe Golden Week is coming up again - does anybody do any work in this country?? My kids just came off their spring holiday, and that was a long enough time for them to be at home.
